I’m going to let you in on a a little secret.
Knowing this secret could be the difference between you being a poor sleeper and being an absolute champion sleeper.
Are you ready for it?
OK…here it is.
If you want to become a world class sleeper…someone who never misses out on their 7 or 8 hours a night…then there is one simple thing you need to do first.
You need to figure out what it is in life that you’re trying to improve…
Then you need to do some research into how sleep can help you achieve that.
You see here’s the thing, (and I’m going to sound like a snake oil salesman when I say this) but here it goes.
There is nothing in your life that can’t be improved by sleeping more and/or getting better quality sleep.
You’ll notice that I differentiated between improving sleep length and improving sleep quality.
It’s possible to get greater benefits from sleep by doing either. Do both and your results will be even more impressive.
But getting back to my outlandish claim…
Sleep is the one thing that has an impact on every area of your life.
And improving your sleep therefore has the potential to improve every area of your life.
If you want to lose weight – sleep can help.
Looking to have a better relationship with your spouse, kids or friends – sleep can help.
Would you like to do a better job at work – better sleep is good for that too.
No matter what it is in life you’re trying to get better at, quality sleep can help.
So here’s what you need to do right now:
- Think about the one area of your life that you’d most like to improve.
- Start looking for some studies that have been done into the connection between that thing and sleep.
You need to convince yourself that improving your sleep will put you closer to achieving whatever it is you want to achieve.
There is an absolute mountain of sleep research out there.
And there’s a very high likelihood that there has been some sort of study done that links sleep and that area.
As soon as you educate yourself about the powerful benefits of sleep, and more specifically the benefits that are most important to you…
Then you’ll start making sleep priority
Until you absolutely make sleep a priority, you’ll never be ‘serious’ enough about it to get as much as you need to perform at your best.
